Chicken in the Kitchen

from 10 by Super Stolie

/

about

Playing with rhyming words, and the ridiculousness of various animals and insects invading the kitchen, Stolie came up with "Chicken in the Kitchen." It's a tongue twister, memory tester, animal noise maker, and fan favorite! Try to remember what each of the animals are doing as you sing through the song!

Words and music by Rebecca Stoelinga.
Originally released on Super Stolie's Family in Harmony album (2015).
Remixed by Richie Heller in 2017. Mastered by Robert Marshall.

lyrics

There’s a chicken in the kitchen tickling my ankle
A chicken in the kitchen tickling my ankle
There’s a chicken in the kitchen tickling my ankle
Ha ha ha ha doodly-doo!

There’s a rooster there in the booster chair
A rooster there in the booster chair
There’s a rooster there in the booster chair
He crows at the crack of dawn
And there’s a chicken in the kitchen tickling my ankle
Ha ha ha ha doodly-doo!

Well, of course, from the stable, there’s a horse under the table
Of course, from the stable, there’s a horse under the table
Of course, from the stable, there’s a horse under the table, snoozing away
And the rooster's there in the booster chair.
He crows at the crack of dawn
And there's a chicken in the kitchen tickling my ankle
Ha ha ha ha doodly-doo!

A butterfly hides in my mother’s pie
A butterfly hides in my mother’s pie
A butterfly hides in my mother’s pie, Sitting on a windowsill
Of course, from the stable, there’s a horse under the table, snoozing away
And the rooster’s there in the booster chair.
He crows at the crack of dawn
And don’t forget the chicken in the kitchen tickling my ankle
Ha ha ha ha doodly-doo!

Now, the dog’s on the floor by the back door
The dog’s on the floor by the back door
The dog’s on the floor by the back door
I just wanna go outside!
And a butterfly hides in my mother’s pie, Sitting on a windowsill
Of course, from the stable, there’s a horse under the table, still snoozing away
And the rooster’s there in the booster chair,
He crows at the crack of dawn
And the finger-lickin’ chicken in the kitchen tickling my ankle
Ha ha ha ha doodly-doo!

Three blind mice loving living in the oven
Three blind mice loving living in the oven
Three blind mice loving living in the oven
Did you ever see such a sight in your life?
The dog’s on the floor by the back door.
I just wanna chase a rabbit!
A butterfly hides in my mother’s pie, Sitting on a windowsill
Of course, from the stable, there’s a horse under the table, snoozing away
And there’s a rooster there in the booster chair.
He crows at the crack of dawn
I’m getting sick of the chicken in the kitchen tickling my ankle
Ha ha ha ha doodly-doo!

Now the kitty cat who is pretty fat is licking that chicken in the kitchen who was tickling my ankle but now he’s stopped!

There’s a chicken in the kitchen tickling my ankle
There’s a chicken in the kitchen tickling my ankle
There’s a chicken in the kitchen tickling my ankle
Ha ha ha ha doodly-doo!
