lyrics

Ricky the Round Rock
Lived down by the boat dock
He'd roll round the marina
And right past the lake locks
Rolling real fast past real Rock walls
Running rapid races with ruggid baseballs
Ricky the Round Rock
The toughest on the whole block
Was rough round the edges
But really it was all talk
He just liked to roll around, up, down and through
Ricky rolls so fast he'd roll right over you!

Peter the Paper
Was in real poor shape
Upon tearing his corner
He patched it with tape
He played at the park with pencils and pens
Practiced his Pilates folds and bends
Peter the Paper
The proud aviator
Piloted paper planes
On a wing and a prayer
He just liked to perch on the top and to hover
But if Peter's above, you better be under cover!

Simon the Scissors
Was sorry his sister
Had Sharpened his blades
Cuz he had to wear slippers
On Sundays he served slices of cakes
And mastered the skill of snipping snowflakes
Simon the Scissors
Had some real sharp clippers
And his shiny silver shears
Would give you the shivers
He just liked to cut shapes likes circles and stars
But if Simon’s snip misses he’ll leave you with scars!

Ricky the round rock rolled over the slippers
That Simon the scissors had worn cuz his sister
Had sharpened his blades, but they became dull
So Simon the scissors wore no shoes at all
He skated along but then tripped and slipped
On the corner that Peter the Paper had ripped
But the tear that was there was hardly a care
To Peter the Paper who soared through the air
And landed upon the back of a hawk
Just barely missing Ricky the rock
Who rolled right beneath him and all the way down
To his home at the boat dock at the edge of town

Now if rock crushes scissors but Ricky rolls past
And scissors cut paper but Simon falls flat
paper covers rock but Peter's in the air
Then aren’t we all winners when we play fair and square?
